INUSHARTS 2020 aims to become a platform to disseminate innovative research works. It is an international conference for undergraduate and postgraduate students, lecturers, independent scholars and practitioners to present and publish their research findings. The targeted outputs are national and international publications (to be confirmed).
The fifth International University Symposium on Humanities and Arts will be held as a virtual conference with be online presentations and plenary sessions (29 September – 1 October 2020).
The theme for the 5th symposium is “Humanities in the Time of Crisis” as we embarked in a (post)-pandemy era with a variety of cultural and social problems. We invite presentations on these 6 subthemes:
• Inequality
• Cultural Heritage & Museums
• Environmentality
• Information Literacy
• Language & Community
• Trajectory of The State

This year, Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia, is revamping our annual international event (INUSHARTS) as we aim to become a dissemination platform for excellent and innovative research works. INUSHARTS 4.0. is an international conference for undergraduate and postgraduate students, lecturers, independent scholars and practitioners to present and publish their research findings. The targeted outputs are 8 edited volumes (indexed by Scopus), 1 special issue in IRHS journal (indexed by Copernicus), and an ISSN national proceeding. Potential articles should fit one of the eight subthemes in order to be accepted for presentations and publications, particularly for the edited volumes.
The fourth International University Symposium on Humanities and Arts will be held in Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia, on 23 – 25 July 2019.

Due to global interactions, many aspects in fields of study in humanities and arts have emerged into one big area of studies which enables many young scholars to work and research together. The result of the research may be expected to be more fruitful and multifaceted than before. In order to equip young scholars who are graduating–or have just graduated with methodologies and skills for doing research, Inusharts offers them a place to gain new knowledge and expand their horizons with fellow scholars from Indonesia and all over the world.
The third International Young Scholars Symposium of Humanities and Arts will be held in Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia, on 6 – 8 August 2018. It is a special symposium that provides a rare opportunity for (senior) undergraduate students who are in the process of writing or finishing their final papers/thesis to present their ideas and insights regarding the current situation of their fields of study based on their visions and ongoing research. Supervisors are expected to co-present with their advisees during the conference as corresponding author to help boost the spirit and motivation of their students.

With the dynamic transformation of the social, political, economic, and cultural landscapes due to global interactions, many aspects of fields of study in humanities and arts have been continuously changing providing a variety of research areas. In order to keep up with this rapid changes and development, young scholars from the humanities and arts, in order to avoid stagnation, need to have their own spaces to disseminate new knowledge and research results while interacting with fellow scholars from Indonesia and all over the world.
The second International Young Scholars Symposium of Humanities and Arts will be held in Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia, on 28 – 30 August 2017. It is a special symposium that provides a rare opportunity for (senior) undergraduate students who are in the process of writing or finishing their final papers/thesis to present their ideas and insights regarding the current situation of their fields of study based on their visions and ongoing research. Supervisors are expected to co-present with their advisees during the conference as corresponding author to help boost the spirit and motivation of their students.
The symposium will look at two major themes: Theme A: “Expanding the Boundaries of the Humanities” is designated for students learning philosophy, anthropology, archaeology, history, library and information science, religious studies, and arts, among others. Theme B: “Bridging the World through Diversity,” is concerned with the study of literature, language, cultural studies, and area studies.
