6th International Conference on Libraries, Archives, and Information Sciences (ICOLAIS) 2026
Auditorium, Building 9 Soe Hok Gie
October 20, 2026
The Department of Library and Information Science, Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia (DIPI FIB UI), stands as one of Indonesia’s pioneers in shaping the field of library, information, and archival studies since 1952. For decades, it has not only advanced scholarship but actively redefined how information is understood—positioning it at the core of knowledge production, cultural memory, and societal transformation. As an inherently interdisciplinary field intersecting with digital humanities, data science, and information systems, library and information science today operate at the forefront of rapid technological change. The transformation of GLAM institutions, combined with the accelerating impact of artificial intelligence and data-driven methods, has elevated knowledge organization into a powerful infrastructure that determines how information is structured, connected, and made meaningful in the digital age. Embracing this momentum, DIPI FIB UI presents the 6th International Conference on Libraries, Archives, and Information Sciences (ICOLAIS 2026) as a bold and dynamic platform for scholars and practitioners to challenge boundaries, exchange ideas, and shape the future of knowledge in an increasingly complex digital ecosystem.
