Overview
The theme for The 2nd International Conference on Law and Governance in Global Context (the 2nd iCLave) is " Law and Governance in Disruptive Era ". The term of disruptive refers to the latest trend related to utilization of technology, automation process, data exchange and cloud computing, and also including cyber-physical system, Internet of things (IoT), cloud computing and cognitive computing as its refer to term of Industry 4.0.
Industry 4.0 will replace traditional work algorithms by providing smarter equipment and manufacturing environments. Digitalization, electronics, automation and mobility will be implemented into systems and workflow management so as to improve productivity and quality. Technology will not just reduce the cost of human labor but also bring many more benefits including increased productivity, efficiency, quality, accuracy, reduced human error, centralized information, and the management of data flow that allows real time communication between various parties.
Regarding of this thinking, the Faculty of Law Universitas Indonesia is determined to contribute positively so that Indonesia can transform the challenges that arise into various opportunities that emerge in this disruptive and welcoming era of Industry 4.0. Through this year’s iCLave, the Organizing Committee expects to get various inputs and studies that can provide insights for stakeholders, business actors and for the scientific development in the country.
The 2nd International Conference on Law and Governance in a Global Context (icLave) 2018 is an event held by Faculty of Law, Universitas Indonesia (FHUI) that aims to provide an excellent international platform for the academicians, researchers and budding students around the world to share their research findings and to find international linkage for future collaborations in the areas of Government policy-disparity between law in the book and law in society, Independent judiciary, Corruption eradication and asset recovery, Legal protection for women and children, Rule of Law and Constitutional Democracy, Law and the global labor market, Law and management problems in multinational corporation, Global investment governance, New developments in criminal law, penal law and criminal justice, Law, policy and conflict management on environmental and natural resources, Law and identities in blurred boundaries, Law and Intellectual Property Rights Protection, Protection to indigenous people/ local communities, The protection of individual identity and privacy at cyberspace, Competition Law and the monopoly of state-owned enterprises, Opportunities and challenges of ASEAN Economic Community, Global market penetration by micro, small and medium enterprises, Law, radicalism and terrorism, Climate change mitigation and adaptation, The development of family law and inheritance law in shaping future global communities, and Islamic finance and economic opportunities.
The Organizing Committee also encourage academics to submit cross-disciplinary research in the above areas.
