Covid-19, which emerged in early 2020, is one of the reasons the world's economies are not in a ceteris paribus condition. Various policies and stimulus are needed to recover the economy. Among the various efforts, the government has designed the 2020 National Economic Recovery (PEN) program, included consumption and business stimulus, which was expected to handle recovery from both demand and supply sides more comprehensively. With this policy, various Indonesian economic indicators began to show improvement in the late 2020. The success of eradicating Covid-19 is believed to be the key to the economic recovery; however, substantial funds are still needed to carry out a sustainable recovery. Therefore, innovation and adaptability from various fields is needed, one of which is innovation in the Islamic economic and finance sector. Although this sector is also affected by the pandemic, various data discovers that Islamic economic and finance sector is more resilient than the conventional financial sector. In this case, some discourses offer an Islamic economic system as potential solution to smoothen the economic recovery.

With this background, the 5th Annual Islamic Finance Conference Call for Paper is held by Fiscal Policy Agency - Ministry of Finance and PEBS FEB UI to provide a platform for researchers, regulators, observers, or related stakeholders in Islamic economics and finance to present the results of their scientific research related on how innovation in Islamic economics and finance can strengthen the process of national economic recovery. Selected papers will be published in reputable scientific journals. In addition, this Call for Paper activity is also expected to be a forum for exchanging ideas regarding the role of Islamic economics and financial innovation in supporting the national economic recovery process after the pandemic.
