Author Guidelines

File Format: Manuscript files can be in the following formats: DOC or DOCX. Microsoft Word documents should not be locked or protected.

Length: Manuscript abstract is limited to 250 words, and the full manuscript is limited to 3500 words (Original Article, Meta Analysisi, and Sistematic Review) and 1500 words (Case Reports, Case Series, Narrative Review)

Font: Use Times New Roman as a standard font.

Language: Manuscripts must be submitted in English.

Manuscript organization for case series

Manuscript should be organized as follows:

Other Elements:

  • Figure: Figure legends/captions are inserted immediately after the first paragraph in which the figure is cited. Figure files are uploaded separately with a clear title such as Figure 1, Figure 2, and so on. The figure should be in JPG or PNG type with a minimum of 300 dpi in quality.
  • Tables: The table is inserted immediately after the first paragraph in which they are cited.
  • Supported information files are uploaded separately.

Abbreviations: A list of abbreviations is not accepted. Define abbreviations the first time they are used in the text and use them after that. No abbreviations in the abstract except for vary know ones.

Nomenclature:

Units of measurement

Use SI units. If you do not use these exclusively, provide the SI value in parentheses after each value.

Drugs

Provide the Recommended International Non-Proprietary Name (rINN)

Species names

Write in italics (e.g., Homo sapiens). Write out in full the genus and species, both in the title of the manuscript and at the first mention of an organism in a paper. After first mention, the first letter of the genus name followed by the full species name may be used (e.g., H. sapiens).

Genes, mutations, genotypes, and alleles

Write in italics. Use the recommended name by consulting the appropriate genetic nomenclature database (e.g., HGNC for human genes; we strongly recommend using this tool to check against previously approved names). It is sometimes advisable to indicate the synonyms for the gene the first time it appears in the text. Gene prefixes such as those used for oncogenes or cellular localization should be shown in roman typeface (e.g., v-fes, c-MYC).

Allergens

The systematic allergen nomenclature of the World Health Organization/International Union of Immunological Societies (WHO/IUIS) Allergen Nomenclature Sub-committee should be used for manuscripts that include the description or use of allergenic proteins. For manuscripts describing new allergens, the systematic name of the allergen should be approved by the WHO/IUIS Allergen Nomenclature Sub-Committee prior to manuscript publication. Examples of the systematic allergen nomenclature can be found at the WHO/IUIS Allergen Nomenclature site.

References style: Please use the “Vancouver” style, as outlined in the ICMJE sample references.

Financial Disclosure Statement: This information should describe sources of funding that have supported the work. Enter the statement of Financial Disclosure in the submission form. Do not include it in your manuscript file.

 

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another conference for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Director).
  2. All URL addresses in the text (e.g., http://pkp.sfu.ca) are activated and ready to click.
  3. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  4. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Conference.
  5. If submitting to a peer-reviewed track of the conference, authors' names are removed from submission, with "Author" and year used in the bibliography and footnotes, instead of authors' name, paper title, etc.
  6. If submitting to peer review, all Microsoft Office documents (including Supplementary Files) have been saved by going to File and selecting Save As; clicking Tools (or Options in a Mac); clicking Security; selecting "Remove personal information from file properties on save"; clicking Save.
