File Format: Manuscript files can be in the following formats: DOC or DOCX. Microsoft Word documents should not be locked or protected.
Type of Manuscript:
Original articles These articles typically include randomized trials, intervention studies, studies of screening and diagnostic tests, laboratory and animal studies, cohort studies, cost-effectiveness analyses, case-control studies, and surveys with high response rates, which represent new and significant contributions to the field.
Case Reports A detailed report of the symptoms, signs, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of an individual patient. Describe an unusual or novel occurrence and, as such, remain one of the cornerstones of medical progress and provide many new ideas in medicine.
Meta-analysis is a quantitative, formal, epidemiological study design used to systematically assess previous research studies to derive conclusions about that body of research. Outcomes from a meta-analysis may include a more precise estimate of the effect of treatment or risk factor for disease, or other outcomes, than any individual study contributing to the pooled analysis. The examination of variability or heterogeneity in study results is also a critical outcome.
Systematic reviews, as the name implies, typically involve a detailed and comprehensive plan and search strategy derived a priori, with the goal of reducing bias by identifying, appraising, and synthesizing all relevant studies on a particular topic. Often, systematic reviews include a meta-analysis component which involves using statistical techniques to synthesize the data from several studies into a single quantitative estimate or summary effect size.
Case series, is a group or series of case reports involving patients who were given similar treatment. Reports of case series usually contain detailed information about the individual patients. This includes demographic information (for example, age, gender, ethnic origin) and information on diagnosis, treatment, response to treatment, and follow-up after treatment.
Length: Manuscript abstract is limited to 250 words, and the full manuscript is limited to 3000 words.
Font: Use Times New Roman as a standard font.
Headings: Limit manuscript sections and sub-sections to 3 heading levels. Make sure heading levels are clearly indicated in the manuscript text.
Language: Manuscripts must be submitted in English.
Manuscript Organization: Manuscript should be organized as follows.
- Title page: Title, authors, and affiliations information

- Introduction
- Materials and Methods
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusions
- Competing Interests
- Acknowledgments
- References
Other Elements:
- Figure: Figure legends/captions are inserted immediately after the first paragraph in which the figure is cited. Figure files are uploaded separately with a clear title such as Figure 1, Figure 2, and so on. The figure should be in JPG or PNG type with a minimum of 300 dpi in quality.
- Tables: The table is inserted immediately after the first paragraph in which they are cited.
- Supported information files are uploaded separately.
Abbreviations: A list of abbreviations is not accepted. Define abbreviations the first time they are used in the text and use them after that. No abbreviations in the abstract except for vary know ones.
Nomenclature:
Units of measurement | Use SI units. If you do not use these exclusively, provide the SI value in parentheses after each value. |

Species names | Write in italics (e.g., Homo sapiens). Write out in full the genus and species, both in the title of the manuscript and at the first mention of an organism in a paper. After first mention, the first letter of the genus name followed by the full species name may be used (e.g., H. sapiens). |
Genes, mutations, genotypes, and alleles | Write in italics. Use the recommended name by consulting the appropriate genetic nomenclature database (e.g., HGNC for human genes; we strongly recommend using this tool to check against previously approved names). It is sometimes advisable to indicate the synonyms for the gene the first time it appears in the text. Gene prefixes such as those used for oncogenes or cellular localization should be shown in roman typeface (e.g., v-fes, c-MYC). |
Allergens | The systematic allergen nomenclature of the World Health Organization/International Union of Immunological Societies (WHO/IUIS) Allergen Nomenclature Sub-committee should be used for manuscripts that include the description or use of allergenic proteins. For manuscripts describing new allergens, the systematic name of the allergen should be approved by the WHO/IUIS Allergen Nomenclature Sub-Committee prior to manuscript publication. Examples of the systematic allergen nomenclature can be found at the WHO/IUIS Allergen Nomenclature site. |
