Abstract
Youth and violence seems as an ‘embedded’ phenomena in urban context, particularly at slum areas. Macionist stated that 39% of arrests for violent crime are youth (15-24 years old) and mostly are the poors. It is needed to transform their violence culture into productive culture by recognising their potential competencies. This recognition has been able to encourage young people to be more confidence, and their participation in the community sphere. Basically, it’s not easy to influence those young peoples with positive values and pro-social behavior. The program of creative economy has stimulated their anthusiasm and interest for transforming themselves, individually as well as collectively.
