The handover of the ASEAN Chair from Cambodia to Indonesia was carried out at the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Phnom Penh last November 2022. Since then, Indonesia has participated in a series of activities and prepared for the implementation of the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. Indonesia through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has utilized social media as a forum for digital diplomacy related to the 43rd ASEAN Summit. Utilization of social media should be used as a means to convey political messages and shape the image of a country to the domestic community and the international community. However, in practice this has not been maximized when referring to the four-dimensional country image model offered by Alexander Buhmann and Diana Ingenhoff in their journal article entitled The 4D Model of the Country Image: An Integrative Approach from the Perspective of Communication Management. This study aims to analyze the digital diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through its official Twitter account (@Kemlu_RI). The author's reason for researching the Twitter account @Kemlu_RI is because this account is the most active when compared to other social media accounts belonging to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, such as Instagram and Facebook. This study uses a qualitative approach with data sources in the form of uploads to the Twitter account @Kemlu_RI related to the 43rd ASEAN Summit. The proposition in this study is that the sympathetic dimension of digital diplomacy for the @Kemlu_RI account is not implemented because the response from social media users is not responded to by the @Kemlu_RI account. The suggestion of this research is the need for the @Kemlu_RI account to carry out dialogic communication with other social media users who interact with uploads of the @Kemlu_RI account so that the country's image in the sympathetic dimension can be realized.
