Abstract

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the world has experienced massive changes in various aspects of life, including economy and business. SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) have been significantly impacted by this crisis. In an effort to recover and enhance the resilience of SMEs, Securities Crowdfunding (SCF) has emerged as a promising solution. This study aims to explore the relationship between SCF and SME resilience, as well as how SCF can help build Indonesia democracy and economic resilience in the post-pandemic digital era.

Securities Crowdfunding is an alternative funding model that allows individuals and companies to raise funds from investors through online platforms. SCF provides wider access for SMEs to obtain the necessary funds to develop their businesses. Additionally, SCF allows investors to participate in the economy in a more democratic way, in line with the growing digital culture.

This study employs qualitative and quantitative methods to identify factors influencing the utilization of SCF by SMEs and evaluate its impact on economic resilience. Through the analysis of primary and secondary data, this research reveals that SCF has great potential in enhancing SME resilience and promoting economic democracy.

The research findings show that SCF can strengthen SME resilience by increasing funding accessibility, promoting innovation, and reducing dependence on conventional loans. Moreover, SCF helps build economic democracy by empowering the broader community to invest in SMEs, thus creating a more equitable and inclusive wealth distribution.

However, this research also identifies several challenges faced by SMEs and SCF, such as regulatory barriers, lack of financial literacy, and inherent risks in investments. To address these challenges, this study recommends collaboration between governments, regulators, SCF platforms, and SMEs in developing policies that support SCF growth and educating the public on the importance of financial literacy.

Overall, this research asserts that SCF plays a crucial role in building economic resilience and democracy in the post-pandemic digital era. With proper support, SCF can be an effective instrument in assisting SMEs in overcoming the challenges they face, while empowering communities to participate in an inclusive and sustainable economy.
