Abstract

Responding to current developments in Indonesia's sexual and domestic violence policies, the country's Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection along with many other community sponsored organisations offer domestic violence services. This essay aims to explore the accessibility of aforementioned services for the victims, as they are mostly reliant on internet services. Domestic violence services provided by the government and private organisations are mostly based in the capital city of Jakarta, where the internet spreading and usage are the highest in the country. Nevertheless, things are not the same with those who live on other islands and remote areas of Indonesia. Considering the digital divide experienced by the country's varying citizens, this essay suggests that domestic violence helpline and its further services are to be provided through accessible means for all citizens.
