Spatial Interaction in Development Unit Area 3 (SWP 3) Semarang Regency, Indonesia
Last modified: 2022-12-02
Abstract
Semarang Regency is divided into three development area units (SWP). One of them is the SWP-3 which includes eight districts and is centered in the urban area of Suruh and Tengaran District. The location of SWP-3 is less favorable because it is relatively far from Ungaran District, the capital city of Semarang Regency. The stipulation of three SWPs is expected to reduce the gap between regions, but in fact, regional inequality persists between the northern and southern regions of the Semarang Regency. The objectives of this study are to analyze the spatial interaction in SWP-3 and to analyze the influence of the accessibility level on the movement of people and goods. The analytical methods used are gravity analysis and accessibility index. The result showed that the strongest movement of people is from Tengaran District to Getasan District, with an average movement of 1.628/day, and the strongest movement of goods is from Getasan District to Tengaran District, with an average movement of 156/day. The role of accessibility to movement shows that high accessibility does not affect the movement. This is influenced by the availability of transportation facilities, the completeness of public facilities, and the natural resources of each sub-district.
