Culture is associated with traditional things that are far from modernization, for example, the case with the indigenous people of Kampung Kuta. Kuta is a Traditional Village that has a variety of local wisdom that has characteristics and uniqueness, especially in terms of caring for the environment which is applied through various forms of culture and customs. In this community found multiple kinds of traditions related to how to maintain and manage existing resources, as well as multiple efforts of indigenous villagers in preserving the environment. The people of Kampung Kuta strongly believe that an understanding of caring for the environment must be applied in every aspect of life because they believe that nature will repay every treatment that has been given to them. This research was conducted in Karangpaningal Village, Tambaksari District, Ciamis Regency, West Java Province. This study aims to determine the form of community education in implementing environmental understanding through culture and local wisdom in the indigenous people of Kampung Kuta. The researcher used a qualitative descriptive method using an ethnographic approach. The results of the study indicate the role of the community in implementing the understanding of environmental love through culture and local wisdom which in its application is always maintained by the community for generations. The form of "pamali" becomes a norm that must be obeyed by the community, especially in terms of environmental utilization which emphasizes environmental sustainability.
