International Symposium of Journal Antropologi Indonesia (ISJAI) is the biggest and well-known international conference of anthropology in Indonesia. Hundreds of presenters came from various countries, present their field works or research on Indonesia in this conference.
ISJAI is an event initiated and hosted by Jurnal Antropologi Indonesia, a journal published by Department of Anthropology, Universitas Indonesia since 1969 (formerly name Berita Antropologi, 1969-1989). In order to spread and share the knowledge and experiences, this event was held on other campuses outside the Universitas Indonesia.
The 8th International Symposium of Journal Antropologi Indonesia (ISJAI) with the theme "What are the Role of Anthropology in This Time of Multiple Crises?", will be held at University of Sam Ratulangi, Manado, North Sulawesi, 2-5 August 2022. The symposium will bring together academics, activists, students, practitioners and community members from across disciplines with shared interest in Indonesia and globally. We will be hosting a variety of panel sessions, workshops, and networking events in-person at University of Sam Ratulangi, Manado, North Sulawesi. The symposium format will be in-person (f2f) event with observing health protocols. Hybrid session will be available only for plenary sessions. In proposing a panel, we consider convenors to have agreed to these conditions. The full and equitable running of the panel is a convenor responsibility.
