Abstract

ABSTRACT

The research purpose  were to identify the hepatoprotector effect of Ethanol Extract of  Cashew Bark’s (Anacardium occidentale(L.)) or EECB and to determine the effective dosage.  Study used SGOT and SGPT Blood indicators and measuring by Photometric 5010 at wave lenght 340 nm. This research applied Group Random Design with 6 treatment groups consists of 5 tested rats (Rattus norvegicus). Group I was normal control.  Group II was negative control. Both of groups were given by Na CMC0,5%. Group III was given by 100 mg/kg BW of Curcuma as positive control and Grup IV was given by 200 mg/kg BW of EECB. Group V was given by 400 mg/kg BW of EECB and group VI was given by 800 mg/kg BW of EECB. After Groups got the protective agents,  then induced by CCl4 1,3 mL/kgBW (except normal control group) and then measured SGOT and SGPT blood after 48 hours. The data  analyzed by Oneway Anova 95%. The result showed that dosage 200 mg/kgBW was effective to decrease SGPT level only. Meanwhile, dosage 400 mg/kgBW was effective as hepatoprotector to decrease SGOT and SGPT level.
