Overview

THEME

The theme for the 6th International Accounting Conference is “The Growth Game Changer: How Accounting Works in the Digital Era”. The description of this theme is described below.

In the shift from an industrial to a digital economy, many organizations, including countries are strategizing to be able to deliver faster growth. Based on research by Accenture and Frontier Economics, the use of digital and Internet of Things can add trillion of dollars to the global economy by 2030. What is more, 87 percent of the business leaders surveyed believe that digital will contribute to long-term job growth. Why such optimism? Digital can be a game changer for these organizations – accelerating productivity, overcoming infrastructure gaps and driving innovation, and for some, perhaps the ability to leap frog.

Implementation of digital relevant to accounting would be in the areas of analytics, business processes, shared services, and industry innovations such as fintech and financial inclusion. To contribute in analytics, experts do more than analyze financials but also provide on-demand multi-dimensional predictive modeling and analytics. Integrated services would include bundle accounting and transaction processing typically performed by finance with tasks from other business areas. In the areas of industry innovations, accounting would be able to provide input on business modeling and financial forecasting.
