Corporate Governance and Firm performance: Evidence from Malaysia

Abstract
This study examines the influence of corporate governance mechanisms on firm performance of top 100 listed companies on Bursa Malaysia between 2007 and 2016. The results show that female executive directors are significantly associated with both market and accounting performance measures, whereas female CEO is only significantly associated with accounting performance measure. Other corporate governance mechanisms are not significant except for board size which is significantly associated with market performance.
