Analysis of Drug Related Problem Among Inpatients with Hypertension in Koja District Hospital from February - April 2019

Abstract


Background: Hypertension is one of non-communicable disease with highest prevalention in Indonesia which is 34.1% case. As a risk factor for other diseases, patients with hypertension usually experience complications and need an addition therapy that can cause polipharmacy. Objective: The purpose for this research is to analyze drug related problems in hospitalized patients with hypertension at Koja District Hospital from Februari – April 2019 based on PCNE V6.2. Material and methods: This study is a cross-sectional study based on completed prescriptions, medical record, and readable index card of the patients who used antihypertensive drugs and was hospitalized at Koja District Hospital from February – April  2019. This study use PCNE V6.2 as tool for analyze drug related problems. Result: There are 148 drug related problems identified, consisting of problem with treatment effectiveness (66,21%) and adverse drug reaction (33,78%) with non-allergic adverse drug reaction as the subdomain with the highest prevalence (31,75%) and cause of drug related problem that mostly occur is inappropriate combination of drugs, or drugs and food (48,93%). Conclusion: Problem with treatment effectiveness is drug related problem that mostly occur in this study
