Abstract
Background:FDT is a tablet that is rapidly desintegrated in the mouth, so it requires in-process control when making granules for wet granulation methods . Objective:The aim of this study was to develop granules from combined with celery herbal extract and bay leaf extract for wet granulation and to assess techniques to enable the production of granules with improved technological characteristics and yields Materials and Methods:Granules were characterized by granulometry, reological parameters, compression and hygroscopic behavior. Independent of the granulation technique, technologically developed granules presented particle diameter, bulk and tapped densities and compressibility indexes suitable for a solid dosage form. Results: the moisture content of granules is 3.35%, tapped density are 0.96±0.89g/mL, the angle after granulation 26°±0.76, the flow rate of compressibilty at 7.77±0.12 second, Particle size increased after granulation from 228 to 531 µm Conclusion: the granules of combined extract was qualify requirement for FDT by wet granulation method.
