Microsoft Word documents should not be locked or protected.</p><p><strong>Type of Manuscript:</strong></p><p><em>Original articles</em><span> </span>These articles typically include randomized trials, intervention studies, studies of screening and diagnostic tests, laboratory and animal studies, cohort studies, cost-effectiveness analyses, case-control studies, and surveys with high response rates, which represent new and significant contributions to the field.</p><p><em>Case Reports<span> </span></em>A detailed report of the symptoms, signs, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of an individual patient. Describe an unusual or novel occurrence and, as such, remain one of the cornerstones of medical progress and provide many new ideas in medicine.</p><p><em>Meta-analysis</em> is a quantitative, formal, epidemiological study design used to systematically assess previous research studies to derive conclusions about that body of research. Outcomes from a meta-analysis may include a more precise estimate of the effect of treatment or risk factor for disease, or other outcomes, than any individual study contributing to the pooled analysis. The examination of variability or heterogeneity in study results is also a critical outcome.</p> <p><em>Systematic reviews</em>, as the name implies, typically involve a detailed and comprehensive plan and search strategy derived a priori, with the goal of reducing bias by identifying, appraising, and synthesizing all relevant studies on a particular topic. Often, systematic reviews include a meta-analysis component which involves using statistical techniques to synthesize the data from several studies into a single quantitative estimate or summary effect size.</p><p><em>Case series</em>, is a group or series of case reports involving patients who were given similar treatment. Reports of case series usually contain detailed information about the individual patients.
