Abstract


Background,

According to regulation (Permenkes 97/2014), give birth must be served in health care center and served by medical professional. Government’s target is 85% of delivery take place at health care center, while national achieving was 79,72% in 2016. The fact interested is achieving of target in working area of Lombok Heath Care Centre in West Lampung was 15,6% in 2016. This fact is not free of cultural factors of local community. Accordingly, must be search why and what determinants of pregnant behavior to do in house give birth.

Objective,

The objective of this research is to know the cultural determinant of in house give birth in working area of Lombok Health Care Center in West Lampung.

Findings,

This research founding showed that most pregnant are prefer in house give birth and served by medical professional. Their behavior base on knowledge that normal give birth is at house, and abnormal give birth or complicated and emergency is in health care center (puskesmas). The family suggestion is influenced by silih darah or nyilih dakhah culture of West Lampung society.

Conclusion/Resume,

Silih darah or nyilih dakhah culture shape knowledge of family, then influence pregnant to decide the place to give birth.
