Abstract
The purpose of this study was to observe preeclampsia prevalence based on The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) 2013 criteria for hypertension in pregnancy. This study was a cohort study with observational method in 66 pregnant women with ≥ 20 weeks gestational age and blood pressure ≥ 140/90 mmHg at Haji Adam Malik General Hospital. Results of this study found 63 patients were diagnosed with preeclampsia, (+) proteinuria and several abnormal laboratory results consistent with ACOG 2013 criteria. Three patients were diagnosed with preeclampsia, without proteinuria, normal laboratory results but had cerebral complaints (Cephalgia). This study deduced that the proteinuria criteria set forth by ACOG 2013 is core, however several other criteria can help in establishing preeclampsia.
