Abstract
Introduction: Law No.40 of Social National Security System (SJSN) assigned the Social Security Agency (BPJS) as the organizer of the National Health Insurance. BPJS appointed Public Health Center as the executor of JKN. According to Riskesdas of 2013, the people who have oral and dental problems are 25.9% but only 8.1% that recieved the medical care. This study aims to describe the implementation of JKN on dental and oral health services at Public Health Center polyclinic. Methods: This study is a descriptive study that all public health centers in Padang as the population. Samples was taken by total sampling method and 10 health centers were obtained. Data were collected by interviews and document observation. The instrument of this study was a questionnaire and data analysis with statistic computer programme. Results: The number of JKN participants increased by 8%. Public visits to the dental clinic increased by 2%. An increased in referrals advanced as much as 2%. The pattern of disease and the type of care provided does not change before and after JKN. The most widely prescribed treatment are premedication (52%), extraction of deciduous teeth (15%) and extraction of permanent teeth without complication (14%). Oro dental emergency service has not been carried out. Dental restorations increased from 1% to 4%. Discussion and Suggestions: The increased in participants and visits to the Public Health Center polyclinic is not followed by an increase in the type of care, this caused by lack of tools and materials for the treatment and lack of knowledge of healthcare professionals about the treatment provided.Socialization to the healthcare professionals about the service that should be provided by Public Health Center and the service that can be received by community is needed.
