Recurrent Stroke In Patients National Center For Brain Hospital And Contributing Factors

Abstract
Objective: This study aimed to determine the risk of recurrent stroke in patients with first experience stroke in the National Center for Brain Hospital and its risk factors.Methods: This design was used in this study a retrospective cohort. The sample is the first to attack all stroke patients who underwent inpatient services in 2014 and had a complete medical record. Data analysis using the Kaplan-Meier and multivariate Cox regression.Results: The results showed that stroke patients who do not regularly control had 8.7 times higher risk for the occurrence of recurrent strokes throughout the two years of observation. In observations up to 15 months, the incidence of recurrent stroke was higher in those aged 60 years or older (HR = 1.03), in those who are overweight and obese (HR = 1.96 and 3.38), and among those who develop pre hypertension (HR = 2.26). While in grade 1 and 2 hypertension incidence of recurrent stroke was higher in the month of observation after 15 months (HR = 2.86 and 2.07).Conclusion: The average survival the occurrence of recurrent stroke is 38 months with a median survival of 25 months. Age, hypertension, obesity and regularly control the variables that play a role in the occurrence of recurrent strokes.Recommendation: To reduce the risk of recurrent stroke events, the need for prevention of stroke and recurrent stroke in people with routine medical examination in clinics or integrated coaching post Communicable Diseases in each region. The establishment of a community association or a stroke in each region and seminars or education about stroke and recurrent stroke the people, particularly those with age above 60 years, those with hypertension, or obesity.Key words : Survival analysis, stroke, .reccurrent stroke
