Abstract
ABSTRACT This present work is focused to the study of Arabic on analyzing and comparing the processes of verb and noun-formation words in Modern Standard Arabic and Egypt, in order to expose the sameness and contrariness of articulation of vocabularies and their potential productivity for pedagogical and translation purposes. The aims of this study were: (1) to describe words may be introduced into those Arabic verbs and noun-formation by compounding, borrowing, derivation, conversion, clipping, blending, back or front formation; (2) to describe number of word-formation processes through backformation, prefixal morphology of inflecting verbs, coinage, calque, etimology, blends. The main method of this study is the descriptive method, including such techniques as the study of factual material, generalization and classification; structurally, morphological one, with the identification of lexical unit development models, in the process of lexical unit sampling, the method of semantic analysis and qualitative method were used. Essential data in this research is Arabic basic-word. Primary data is obtained through asking Arab informants from people of those three countries who were studying or living in Indonesia. The collected data uses 200 Swadesh word list guidelines. Secondary data refers to data additional information in the literature study.
