Records Manager in the Industry 4.0: Case study in Indonesia

Abstract


This study discusses who the records manager is, what tasks and records manager functions; what is the importance of records managers in an organization, especially in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to identify the role of record managers in an organization in the midst of the 4.0 industrial era where the role of record managers will be increasingly needed. The role of the record manager is related to the record management electronic, legal evidence, information assets and organizational accountability. This study uses a qualitative method by using case studies on record manager in Indonesia and literature analysis. Many records and data have been created in digital and electronic forms. The record manager is required to be able to adapt with era 4.0 and collaborate more deeply with all units in the company. The applicative impact of this research is to show the task of the record manager to be able to identify electronic records in the company and digitally manage and distribute them. The theoretical impact provides a new understanding in the professional field of a record manager, especially in Indonesia, to always improve his ability as a professional to follow the era of information technology development.
