Employability Skills Among Students Vocational College in Malaysia

Abstract


The Vocational Education Transformation Programme (VETP) has been implemented since 2013  as an important aspect which aimed at strengthening  Malaysia's vocational education, in order to ensure synchronization with our  education system.  The modification in the programme would support the national economic transformation agenda in churning out skilled and trained manpower. Well-trained manpower throughout the comprehensive vocational training will be equipped with employability skills globally.  Therefore, this study has been conducted to analyse employability skills among the students in vocational college. A quantitative survey using Likert scale questionnaire instrument has been utilized throughout this study.  In addition,  90 respondents from Kolej Vokasional Kluang were taken as the samples of the study. In fact, mean score, standard deviation and ANOVA Test have been used for statistical measurement in this study. In conclusion, the analysis of the samples taken are expected to be used as a guide to improve the implementation of employability skills in particular and the process of teaching and learning in vocational colleges pertaining academic and vocational modules.
