Abstract

Lake ecosystems in Indonesia are experiencing degradation (decreased quality). The high environmental degradation in Semayang Melintang Lake has resulted in increased sedimentation entering from the Mahakam River. One of the problems of lakes with this type of flood exposure is the difficulty of determining a fixed limit of the lake surface area. Along with the increasing need for information on the boundaries of lake water bodies in an effort to control the decrease in lake inundation area, a breakthrough/innovation is needed in providing information on the boundaries of lake water bodies from remote sensing satellite imagery data. Detection of water bodies boundaries from Sentinel 2 satellite image data using visual and digital methods. The boundary of the lake water body can be detected visually based on the selected composite image from the results of the OIF calculation on Sentinel Image 2. Digitally detects water and non-water classification using the OBIA (Object Based Image Analysis) method, stratified classification algorithm, assign class and random forest classifier method. The results of the processing obtained the boundaries of the lake water body and the area of the Semayang Melintang lake which can be used for management and monitoring plans.
