Abstract

Land is an area on the earth's surface, which can be changed according to human needs. Meanwhile, land cover will change due to population pressure, resource use, and human interest in space. Measurement of land area is important in order to find out how much converted land is both positive and negative. To identify the land used a collection of vegetation in the form of density. The study, which was conducted in Palabuhanratu, Sukabumi Regency, aimed to test and compare the accuracy between EVI and SAVI in viewing land cover and knowing the converted land area using the supervised classification method with the maximum probability. The images used are Landsat 8 in 2018 and 2022. Calibration is carried out with High Resolution images and Field Surveys with 95 points, the result of polygon sampling. The results obtained by EVI are more accurate than SAVI, with an average accuracy of 46% and 43%, respectively. Then there was an increase in the area of green land cover from 2018 to 2022 by 57 hectares. This happens because it is related to the time of the image. Thus, it can be concluded that the EVI method is more appropriate to use in analyzing land cover in Palabuhanratu.
