Abstract
Use of Social Vulnerability Index to Determine the Level of Vulnerability to Flood Disasters in Kampung Melayu Village, Indonesia.

Abstract. Kampung Melayu Village is one of the areas in DKI Jakarta is often prone by floods. The aim of this research is to calculate Social Vulnerability Index (SoVI) in Kampung Melayu Village by using 8 variables, namely women, pregnant women, people under 5 years old, people over 65 years old, people with disabilities, poor people, unemployment and seeking work, and the average number of family members. One of the techniques in SoVI is Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was used to analyze the variables. The vulnerability was categorized in five class. The result of this research shown that the total SoVI of flood disasters in Kampung Melayu Village is 3,579. There was 3 community units (RW) dominated by the moderate category, namely RW 02, RW 03 and RW 04. The variables that contribute the highest to social vulnerability to flood disasters in Kampung Melayu Village was people with disabilities, people over 65 years old, and unemployed and seeking work.
