Community Knowledge Facing Flood Disasters in Muara Enggelam Village, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, Indonesia

Abstract
Muara Enggelam Village is one of the villages in the reparian area of Lake Melintang which is a flood-exposure lake. In order to survive in flooded areas, definitely need the knowledge to be able not to have to evacuate and also be able to survive in difficult conditions. Therefore, the focus of this research is to see the knowledge and application of the people of Muara Enggelam Village to survive during the flood disaster. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method approach to describe the knowledge of the community to survive in a flood disaster, which took place at this time or in the past. The results showed that community knowledge was obtained by the people in Muara Enggelam Village based on experiences from their ancestors, or new knowledge during the recent flood conditions. This knowledge starts from how to build houses, mitigation strategies, disaster risk reduction and transportation systems. The knowledge of the people in Muara Enggelam Village continues to grow and is able to help the community to survive during floods. This knowledge can make the community able to survive even in times of extreme flood disasters.
