Abstract

The earthquake on 28 September 2018 with a magnitude of 7.4 MW, and centered in Balaesang Tanjung, has caused a tsunami disaster with very large casualties, especially in Tompe Village, Sirenja District, Donggala Regency. The impact of the disaster is still being felt, and it brings a lot of losses. The tsunami that occurred due to the earthquake came very quickly, so that the residents around the coast, especially in Tompe Village, did not have time to escape. Donggala Regency as an area that is often hit by tsunamis, needs to improve community preparedness in this area so that it can reduce the risks caused by disasters in the future. Considering that the tsunami is a disaster with a very long cycle of repetition. It is often forgotten or the socialization given is considered a futile notification and is seen as frightening. Though this eventĀ  always occur in a certain cycle. To anticipate this, it is necessary to do participatory mapping to produce existing exposure data. With the exposure data, preparedness programs such as installation of disaster signs and evacuation routes, as well as other variables can be implemented. The results showed that for the level of exposure, it was 2.65 (high). One of the mitigation strategies carried out economically and socially is through increasing the adaptive capacity of the community, namely increasing education and infrastructure development, so that it will improve the welfare of the community
