DEVELOPMENT OF GREEN OPEN SPACE AS A GREEN CITY CONCEPT IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGY (Case Study in Samarinda City)

Abstract


Abstract describes in general the issue of the research reported in the manuscript, written complete and clear. Abstract should be written in both English and Indonesian in a single paragraph, 150– 200 words, highlighting the key messages from the research like research goals, methods, and findings and shows how the paper contributes to the field of education. Key words should be written under the abstract in bold italics and should reflect the substance of the paper. Key words should also be mentioned in the title. Format of the writing of abstract and key words, as well as the body of the article must follow this template Very rapid growth and development of the city is experienced by various regions, one of which is Samarinda City which is the capital of East Kalimantan Province. This is because Samarinda City is a destination city for residents to live and improve their economy. As a result of the development of the city of Samarinda, problems after problems are increasingly emerging, one of which is environmental problems accompanied by other negative impacts. To deal with and resolve these problems, the method established by the Samarinda City government is by applying the green city concept. This study aims to determine the development of green open space as a strategy for implementing the green city concept in the city of Samarinda and the obstacles experienced in developing green open space. This research is a qualitative research using Miles and Huberman analysis. The subjects in this study were the entire area of ​​Samarinda City. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. The results show that (1) the green open space of Samarinda City is only about 10% more and has not reached the expected target of 30%, (2) the obstacles faced in developing the green open space of Samarinda City are limited land, insufficient budget resources, land acquisition land requires a lot of money, especially community land that has certificates, the intervention of various parties results in weak supervision of violations of land and building use provisions, lack of coordination between executors of green open space providers, and lack of compliance and community engagement with green open spaces, (3 ) The strategy implemented by the Samarinda City Government in implementing the green city concept is, providing green open space, increasing compliance and responsiveness of the community and implementers to the green open space regulation, providing sanctions, and socializing the importance of green open space.
