Abstract

Fibromyalgia (FM) is a chronic pain that includes pain that spreads throughout the body accompanied by other symptoms. In general, people with fibromyalgia experience fatigue, mood disorders, dizziness, sleep disturbances, and difficulty in concentrating. Another symptom is also often found in fibromyalgia sufferers, namely, tenderness, headache, and intestinal irritation. Individuals with fibromyalgia are usually reported to have a decrease in quality of life, decreased functional status, and greater expectations in the use of health services. This study was conducted using a qualitative method for pain management, coping stress and quality of life of women with fibromyalgia. In addition, this study can help provide a description of fibromyalgia sufferers related to psychological conditions and efforts in tackling changes that occur both physically and psychologically. The method used is in-depth interviews conducted on five women with fibromyalgia with age range between 25-55 years old.
