Abstract
Baduy tribe is indigenous people who still maintain taboo and do not receive formal education. Its remote location and not far from Jakarta forces the community to deal with modernization. In addition, this community of unchanged territories must also solve the problem of population growth, thus forcing them to make cultural contact with other communities. The purpose of this study was to examine the three variables (cultural contact, cultural values and vocational education) as predictors of the education expectation in Baduy community. By involving 169 respondents aged 11-21 years, we found that the three variables related to the education expectation (F = 8.935, p <.001). It can be concluded that cultural contact, cultural values and vocational education affect the education expectation in Baduy community.
