Abstract
Background: The nutrition intervention as well as direct impact of pregnancy outcomes. This information system application is expected to assist pregnant women to provide information about the amount of nutrition by suggesting alternatives of types of food.
Objectives: This study aims to examine the difference of maternal eating behaviour and its associations between women who used the nutrition information system (SISFORNUTRIMIL) application and non-user.
Methods: This will be a randomized control trial and allocate participants 1:1 to the SISFORNUTRIMIL application user and non-user application. Both groups will receive a 6-week standard health services from health professionals and received information about dietary diversity and food record. In addition, participants in the intervention group will have the SISFORNUTRIMIL access on their devices, which will provide basic information about nutrition in pregnancy and various food includes dietary recommendation so pregnant women could calculation total serving size. In contrast, the control group will received food information and food record by paper based, and they should record and calculate the nutrition intake by traditionally.
Results: We will recruit 125 participants with eligible criteria from November 2019 to April 2020 or until the recruitment process is complete. We expect all trial results to be available by mid-year of 2020.
Conclusions: We expect that SISFORNUTRIMIL as a nutrition intervention to improve healthy pregnancy in reduced the healthcare and health promotion issue as a proper foundation to contribute in decreased of morbidity and mortality rate.
