Parent Interaction Associated with Free Sex and Aggressive Behavior among Unmarried Adolescents

Abstract


Objective: To analyze the relationship of parent interactions with free sex and aggressive behaviors of unmarried adolescents.

Method: This research design used cross sectional approach with the number of sample were 744 adolescents from junior high school and senior high school  from east java aged 12-19 years old who completed google form. The independent variable was the parent interaction, while the dependent variable were free sex and aggressive behavior. The data were collected by using questionnaires.  The PACHIQ-R questionnaire for measuring parent interaction. Data were analyzed using chi square with the level significant α=0.05.

Result: The results showed that there was correlation between parents interactions and sexual behavior with correlation p<0.001 and aggressive behavior in adolescents with p<0.001.

Conclusion: It can be concluded that parent interaction has an impact for the adolescent behaviors especially in the free sex and aggressive behaviors.  Nurses need to educate the parents for preventing free sex and aggressive behaviors among adolescent.
