Strategy Interventions For Female Inmates With Depression: A Systematic Review

Abstract


Background: the conditions of the prisons lead to changes in the physical, psychological and social on female inmates and be the cause of mental health problems compared to the general population other. One of the mental health problems most often is depression. So far there has never been a review of interventions effective for reducing depression specifically on the female inmates.

Objective: to evaluate effective interventions to reduce depression on female inmates.

Data sources: a systematic review of research published in the journal or as a dissertation in Science Direct, PubMeds, Google Schoolar in the last ten years, using the keywords “intervention for depression AND inmates OR prisoners”.

Method of Review: a total of 19 paper. Inclusion criteria the presence of control before and after studies, while the recidivism and the use of the substance in the-exclude.

Result: some interventions ever undertaken to decrease depression in inmates focused to resolve the issue of psychological and social well-done approach with individuals and groups. Intervention strategies conducted on female inmates who experience depression are more effective with the approach of the group than the individual

Conclusion: depression experienced by the female inmates more effectively done by a group approach.
