Abstract
Abstract
Objective: Identify the sleep quality of chronic patients who are undergoing treatment in hospitalization and outpatient care at the hospital
Method: This study used a cross-sectional design with a sample of 107 chronic disease patients who were undergoing treatment in hospitalization and outpatient hospitals. The instrument used consisted of descriptive instrument characteristics, measurements of factors that affect sleep quality and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI).
Results: The results of the study illustrate that chronic disease patients tend to experience poor quality sleep. This study found a significant relationship between marital status (p = 0.033), history of hospitalization (p = 0.030), and internal influence of chronic disease patients, namely physical complaints (p = 0.015), emotional stress (p = 0.004), and habits were carried out (p = 0.001).
Conclusion: The results of the study indicate the importance of conducting an assessment of disease factors that can affect sleep quality in patients with chronic disease.
