Abstract
The quality of nursing services is determined by nurses’ job performance which is influenced by several factors including the provision of remuneration/ compensation/ incentive. The objectives of this study were: (1) to examine the strength of evidence for the correlation between the provision of remuneration/ compensation/ incentive and nurses’ job performance; (2) to show the urgency of fair and proportional remuneration provision in order to improve nurses’ job performance in Indonesia. This study was a systematic review of original English or Indonesian language articles, using the google scholar database, with publication period between January 1st 2014 and December 31st 2018. The result of this systematic review confirmed that there was a significant positive correlation between the provision of remuneration/ compensation/ incentive and nurses’ job performance. Besides, the provision of fair and proportional remuneration/ compensation/ incentive affects not only nurses’ job performance, but also nurses’ organizational commitment, motivation and job satisfaction. It is recommended to provide fair and proportional remuneration/ compensation/ incentive in order to improve nurses’ job performance in Indonesia.
