Abstract
One of the commercial activities or objects that contribute to generating waste is a tourist place. Ancol has been designated as an integrated tourism area by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government since its inception in 1966. Visitors who come contribute donations of garbage in the Ancol area because each individual will carry out activities and carry out various activities. The amount of waste generation in a period is not constant because the fluctuations in the density of visitors that occur will affect the fluctuations in the amount of waste generated in the Ancol recreation area. Waste can cause environmental problems if it is not managed properly, but on the other hand it can provide economic benefits if managed properly. One effort to reduce the amount of waste disposed to Bantar Gebang is to manage waste in the Integrated Waste Management by sorting, processing organic waste into compost, and reducing the volume of inorganic waste generated at Ancol. The purpose of this study was to analyze and evaluate the process of reducing the amount of recreational waste carried out starting from the amount of waste entering Integrated Waste Management until the residue discharged to Bantar Gebang can be reduced after going through the processing process. In addition, the economic value of disaggregated and managed waste products can be taken into account. The research method that will be used to achieve the objectives of this study is a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. Preliminary results indicate a reduction in the amount of residual waste disposed to Bantar Gebang in 2018 compared to 2017.
