Abstract
Jakarta has implemented Environmentally-friendly buildings and Energy-saving act policy. However, energy consumption in the building sectors remains significantly increased. It dominated by energy use in building’s air conditioner (AC) caused by direct impact to thermal comfort for building’s occupants. This present research article reports the results of Subjective electronic questionnaires (e-questionnaires) of subjective answers by a civil service employee of Jakarta Capital Government. The thermal comfort of building occupants is measured by implementing ASHRAE 7-point scale data and thermal vote. The link between variables analyzed through Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) method. This study conducted in three-part of Jakarta Metropolitan regions located in the coastal area (North, East, and West of Jakarta). The questionnaires distributed to 367 buildings occupants during the dry-wet season (October-November). The results showed a significant impact between thermal comfort to energy consumption especially in a proper understanding of energy-saving policy and ‘green behavior’, a model using those variables was generated to show the link between them and suggested as a tool to conduct better building-related policies in Jakarta Provincial Government.
