Abstract
Mangrove rehabilitation is an effort to overcome abrasion problems. Karangsong with a history of abrasion from 1997 to 2007 managed to rehabilitate the coast by involving many parties. The community as the party most affected by the presence of mangrove forests has an important role in the success of mangrove rehabilitation. Therefore, this paper reviews how the community is involved in rehabilitating mangroves in Karangsong. Using a qualitative descriptive method, with an analysis of Arnstein and Wilcox's participation. This study concluded that the participation of the Karangsong community was at the citizen power stage. Although it is not in the highest stage, Citizen Control, the Delegated Power stage has shown that the community can make planning and make decision policies in mangrove rehabilitation. The sustainability of community participation is still needed in mangrove management. The interference of the regional government in management must emerge, therefore local government policies are needed that still involve the community.
