How do small-scale landowners participate in peatland restoration programs and manage their own?

Abstract
Peatlands are a type of wetlands that occur in almost every country on Earth, currently covering 3% of the global land surface.
In this case study, we analyzed the practice of ecological restoration between nature and management through the progress of participation and the proposed and implemented conservation policy tools. Focused on peatland management was thoroughly discussed in Bengkalis district, Riau province, Indonesia on 2017-2019. Our results show a process management system of the residents formed and the agreement of participants’ values.
