Recent years, there are at least two main problems in energy which are the emergence of energy scarcity and the call for having alternative source of energy. The concept of Energy democracy itself is based on the core value that energy should be accessible for everyone. A group on a climate camp at Lausitzcamp in Lusatia, Germany in 2012 published a short summary on the energy democracy in which it advocate the need for everyone towards the enough access of energy. Therefore, it needs more chance for everyone to get the access of the energy and to create sources of energy. In Boalemo regency, Gorontalo province,   there are a lot of Aren (Arenga Pinnata) plantation. So far, they make used of Aren only for making palm sugar, and the juice was transferred into beverage and alcoholic beverage. With the intervention of proper technology, a team consist of some expert from Lemigas (Gas and Oil Institute), LIPI (Indonesian Institute of Sciences) , KLHK (Ministry of Environment and Forestry) and Ministry of Energy and Human Resources have worked together in supporting the making of Aren Based Independent . The objective of this project is to give more advantage for people own Aren plantation in Boalemo by utilizing Aren as the source of economy and energy in the household basis. Methodology that was employed is by conducting technology intervention to convert Aren to create biogas and Biofuel.  As a result, this project is economic advantage by using Aren tree as source of palm sugar making, export channeling and converting the juice to create biogas and biofuel. This project also supported at policy making process in a form of creating the local regulation plan.
