Study Effect of Method Extraction And Concentration Solvent To Cinnamaldehyde and Cinnamic Acid Content of Dry Extract Cinnamon (Cinnamomum Burmanii Blume )

Abstract


We report the effects of methods extraction and  concentration of solvent to cinnamaldehyde and cinnamic acid content of dry extract cinnamon. The extraction method used  infundation, maceration and soxhletation, while the solvents used  ethanol 50%, 70% and 96%. Liquid extract dried to obtain dry extract. The cinnamaldehyde and cinamic acid assayed with spectrophotometric method. The results of assay showed that maceration method and solvent ethanol 96%  produce higher levels of cinnamaldehyde  and cinnamic acid.
