FORMULATION OF SOLID SOAP OF KAOLIN SOIL FOR ANTI-UNCLEAN (ANTI-NAJIS) AND SWAB TEST AGAINST DOG SALIVA BACTERIA

Abstract

aw of the republic of Indonesia number 33, year  2014 about halal products assurance (HPA) will begin to be implemented at the end of 2019. In Article 1 of this law is mentioned, that: Products are goods and / or services related to food, beverage, medicine, cosmetics, chemical products, biological products, products of genetic engineering, as well as of items goods is used or used by the community. According to the HPA, the soaps are as items used that mandatory have halal certification. Kaolin solid soap is one of the soaps that can be used to remove heavy unclean (Najis mughalladzah). The purpose of this study was to make solid soap formulas that adequate and in accordance with Islamic sharia law to eliminate heavy unclean. Soap was made by finding the suitable concentration for the ingredients used to make soap based on Islamic sharia law, where the amount of soil based on the edict (fatwa) of the ulama council is a minimum of 5%.   In this study, variations in the concentration of coconut oil used were 20%, 25% and 30%, while the concentrations of stearic acid were 10%, 12% and 14%. The quality of anti-unclean soap was determined based on the provisions of the national standards of Indonesia and Islamic sharia law, namely, pH, soap hardness, moisture content, clean power, high & foam stability and anti-unclean swab test of dog saliva bacteria. In this study, the concentration of 30% coconut oil and 14% stearic acid were the best. The results of the antibacterial activity test by using the swab test showed that soap that containing soil was more effective in removing dog saliva bacteria compared to non-soil-containing soap and also for sterile distilled water.  As conclusion, the quality of this soap was in accordance with the provisions of the Indonesian national standard for solid soap and Islamic sharia law for heavy anti-unclean
